Munich 2025 Recap
Best Sound of the Show for Kroma x Engström and a new speaker launch. Huge presence for Wadax and launch of the Studio System. The final High End show in Munich couldn't have been any better.
With the month of May behind us, we look back at the last ever High End show in Munich before we meet again in Vienna next year. It’s the end of an era, but what an end it was! For our brands this was by far the biggest show ever in terms of sheer presence, punctuated with some notable product launches.
Wadax’s Studio • Player, and the newly launched complete Studio System, appeared across a staggering 9 rooms - a testament to the quality of these products and the esteem the brand has garnered in the industry. We’ve been raving about the Studio • Player for a while now, which as a standalone product continues to impress, but the addition of the Clock and PSU make for a truly mouth-watering stack of elegance and audio engineering.

Engström also had their biggest show presence to date; a break from their usual cool Nordic modesty. Their entire product suite was on show this year, spread across three rooms. Alongside them, Kroma Atelier launched their new Callas speaker, with the Kroma & Engström room F219 taking Sound of the Show at Soundstage! Global. Wadax’s Studio • Player was on digital source duty in this room as well - all in all a huge source of pride for us at Boyer Audio.
Sound of the Show
“What an impressive demo—I couldn’t fault the sound in any way. I rarely say that.”

The Callas also got to shine alongside the latest addition to the Boyer family: Orpheus Lab, again alongside Wadax (I think you get the picture, there’s serious synergy between these brands!).
“The Kroma Atelier Callas is an imposing speaker, beautifully finished, and so juicy-sounding.”
-Jason Thorpe, SoundStage! Global
You may be aware of our fondness for the A Four I200 integrated amplifier which unfortunately wasn’t on show here, but who can complain when Orpheus Lab delivers its most elite Heritage Line offering, with the H Three M800 Opus II monoblocks (above) beautifully showcasing the awesome metalwork that spans their entire product range. It’s been a real pleasure seeing Orpheus take it up a notch every time, year by year, since we first took note in 2023. We can’t wait to try the Heritage Line amplifiers ourselves - they made a big impression in this room and picked up a mention from Stereophile.
We are planning a trip to visit Orpheus Lab in Switzerland this year for a factory tour, where we look forward to meeting the team and gaining a deeper understanding of what makes this company tick.
“I was having so much fun that I hated to leave.”
-Jason Victor Serinus, Stereophile

The Kroma-Engström magic was also going strong in another room - on a smaller scale, but no less impressive - where the ARNE integrated amp was being used as a power amplifier with the MONICA and M-Phono to drive Kroma’s MacBeth standmounts in a new silver-white Krion finish. This is an incredible combo that we also showcased last year at the Audio Show Deluxe, leaving visitors speechless!
Those with a keen eye will have noticed some new things from Shunyata Research in the form of the EVEREST-X and ALTAIRA-X. Stay tuned - we’ll bring you more about these developments later this month!
Bassocontinuo showcased their ever-expanding range of high end audio racks, with new Classic Line models and a beautiful concert hall themed room alongside Dan D’Agostino and Wilson Audio. We were very honoured to receive an award from Lorenzo for Best European Distributor 2024, even more so given the relatively short time we have been working together. Thank you!
It’s goodbye Munich, Hello Vienna. Luckily you won’t need to wait quite that long to experience these brands together again. With the Boyer Audio line-up now at six brands, so many stellar products on offer, and so many ways to put them together, we have decided to book two rooms at next year’s Audio Show Deluxe to showcase a wider range of audio magic. We’re already planning, so make sure you save the dates: 21st – 22nd March 2026.
